Club Service

The Rotary Club of Houma operates under the Standard Rotary Club Constitution, originally adopted in 1922. It contains the club's name, definition of its territorial limits, and rules for regular club meetings, membership, attendance, admission fees and dues. It provides for a board of directors as the club's governing body and a president and other officers. Their terms of office — like those of international and district officers — begin on 1 July each year.

Our club uses the recommended Committee Plan for a Rotary Club to carry out service projects and activities. It includes four main committees corresponding directly to Rotary's Four Avenues of Service as well as a committee to focus on those aspects of Club Service pertaining to membership development. Our club president assigns a director to each avenue to act as coordinator and supervisor of the work of several subcommittees.
